Months in Review: April 2013

For the month of April, I have more or less depicted the stories in my last post about debts. April was undeniably a busy month for me in terms of office work, therefore I don’t have much time for myself to endeavor any new or fun stuff during that particular month.

Summarizing my April – Working and working and working; all around the clock, after office hours, on weekends and even during medical leave. Needless to say if I’m filthy rich, I’ll just walk off. But I guess I’m not, and commitments were the explicit reason for the suffering. Nevertheless, gratitude should always come first.

Dear April, what happened to you?

The Haunted Debt  – If you have been following the past month reviews, you’ll certainly have the idea what this is all about. Saving is as usual, another 50 bucks saved and piggy bank filled up for April. Hmm. I decided to call my small saving plan as Saving Private Fifty (not Ryan!), since the plan turned out okay so far.

Healthier Lifestyle (Always Wishing).

In my March review, I wrote about my plan of going for a brisk walking (or how I like to call it myself as ‘walkathon’). Despite my super pack schedule and the bad weather, I managed to slot in 3 days of walkathon during April. Not that I’m proud of it, but something little is always better than nothing at all. My mini pedometer which I bought last February has helped me to capture these:

More Writing and Reading.

Not much time left for these two, however I managed to re-capture my dailies, to-do’s and reminders in my new phone that I bought after the broken-heart incident. When I started this blog, I unexpectedly have plenty of things planned to be done in my life; hence I have to instantly split them into Plan-To-Do and Must-Do. Must-Do is always a top priority for me, which usually requires swift attention at a short duration of time. Plan-To-Do is more for a long term basis. It’ll be extraordinary if I able to scrape off all the Plan-To-Do 🙂

Reading? It’s a sad thing to say I don’t have time for it, maybe until June. My one single novel is now only at Chapter 28 out of 50.

Moments – The Awesome & Terrified.

I’m going to skip all the terrified moments happened during April because the worst for me was the overloaded office work. Second worst, of course, no further news for salary increment.

The Amazing.

Family Time – Full, hectic work schedule during the month, but balancing with family time is always important. We had our family and relatives gathered for small feast with prayers on 4-Apr at the mosque. Then we traveled to Johor to celebrate my father-in-law and sister-in-law’s birthday on 6-Apr. And 8-Apr was my parents’ 40th wedding anniversary, which I think is unbelievably amazing! 40 YEARS of being together has proven their pure, true love.

Special treat by my bro-in-law at Johor Premium Outlet (JPO)

New Family Member (7-Apr) – Hubs has always wanted to have a pet in our own house. I had my 2 guinea pigs for 3 years, and now we are planning to adopt a kitten. He’s a mix breed of Maine Coon and Persian and we found him from one of the posting in a website. Until today when I’m writing this post, he is still staying in the good breeder’s hands. He will soon be living with us by June.

Our soon-to-be cutie was born on 28 Feb 2013, and now he’s almost 3 months old!

Another Special Treat (9-Apr) – We both had terrible sore throat during the first 2 weeks in April, but somehow we skipped the normal porridge or hot soup instead. Without feeling any guilty, hubs bought us a delicious dinner, and I ordered myself a sinful lamb cutlet. And my throat had gotten worst after that, but it was worth it.

Revival of Old-Bootrom Heart (17-Apr) – So my 3GS was plainly sick, but the good news was, his heart has been fixed by the help of my friend. The 3GS has functioned as normal (only not jailbroken). Now that I have 2 iPhones in my hands, I might just end up giving it to my mum or re-sell it.

My April Favorite Picks:

Honestly I have to say April wasn’t the month where I bought anything interesting, probably because I don’t have much time to pamper or reward myself.

These printed leggings was what I purchased and wore mostly in April, and I received lots of compliments from my friends. They were my most favorites – super comfy and really adorable to be worn with sheer, loose top and cute flat sandals.

imagesLoosen up the stress of overloaded work; I discovered this newly-released game ‘Dungeon Hunter 4’. I was addicted and glued to my iPad playing this game almost every late night before I went to sleep.

It may sounded like I tortured myself, but what else could I say?

The game was a freemium-model type, but they offered in-app purchases, which I believed most people hate it. I do, too. But for me, this game is still awesome in a way it can make you addicted to their story line mission and the ‘Team Deathmatch’ which I like (although it’s quite lagging though!). It has obviously become my most favorite for the month of April, even until now too! I think you should give it a try, and let me know if you are one of the players, as I’ve made few new friends over there. Yay!

And ohh! Mega project is happening in May. Stories coming up in next review! 😀

“If you could go back and just change one thing about your life, would you? And if you did, would that change make your life better? Or would that change ultimately break your heart? Or break the heart of another? Would you choose an entirely different path? Or would you change just one thing? Just one moment. One moment that you’ve always wanted back.” – One Tree Hill
