As most of you have been aware of, Earth Hour is a worldwide event organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) usually around end of March every year, encouraging people to turn off their lights for one hour to raise awareness about the need to take action on climate change.
This year, the event will take place on Saturday, 23-Mar-13 from 8:30 PM till 9:30 PM, wherever you are in the world. I remembered years back, our family gathered together and had our dinner with romantic candles, lit throughout our entire kitchen, while the rest remains dark. I usually get most excited 10 minutes before. I will stay behind the window curtain and just looking outside towards the front row of our housing area. I love seeing when everyone switches their lights at the same time. It’s pretty scary after that, but I know everyone was doing it globally. So my thought is, why shouldn’t I be a part of it?
This map represents all participated countries. And I’m proud that our country is being listed among many of them. If you are interested, you can also take part of the event held by Sunway Pyramid shopping mall. Make sure you’re done with your shopping before 8:30 or else you might end up buying different pair of shoes! 😛
How do you play your part? What was your experience during the glittering darkness? 🙂
